Learning Disability Awareness Training

Almost one million people in England have a learning disability.

Nearly one in three people with learning disabilities said someone had been rude or offensive to them in the last year.

Are your staff as knowledgeable and supportive as they could be?  As they should be?

Awareness of disability and diversity are essential components of providing quality service to users and customers in today’s marketplace. Ensuring that your staff are informed and ready to handle a broad variety of people’s needs not only helps to meet your legal obligations, it makes good business sense.

The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities is pleased to offer an affordable and flexible training solution around disability awareness and diversity.  With our support you can remove the stigma, fear and uncertainty when it comes to delivering quality service and support to your customers or users.

We offer a variety of training solutions ranging from one-day ‘lunchtime’ seminars to multi-week courses covering a broad variety of disabilities. Essential to all of our training packages is ensuring that the Disability Discrimination Act is fully explained in relation to your business.

Class sizes can range from 5 - 30 people and we provide training either on or off site in accordance with the hours of your business.

Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 legal rights for disabled people are now in place covering employment, access to services, education, transport and housing.

Although legal rights are now in effect, many people with learning disabilities still report
