Our work on raising awareness

Newspaper
People with learning disabilities tell us what their life is like.

We want lots of people to understand what people with learning disabilities want.

We help them tell newspapers, magazines, TV, radio and websites.

This website tells lots of people what matters to people with learning disabilities.

We also tell people in government how services could change so people with learning disabilities can have a better life.

The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities uses its position as an independent, well-respected organisation to raise awareness of issues affecting people with learning disabilities and to push them up the political and social agenda. More information.

We operate a busy press office which issues news releases, offers comment on breaking stories, writes letters to editors, puts journalists in touch with people who have a story to tell and engages in a range of other media activities to support the work of the Foundation and of all our stakeholders. More information.

We are a leading provider of online services in the field of learning disabilities. This website provides a daily news service and directories of organisations, websites and events. We also run an online forum and a mailing list for regular updates and we provide independent, free information for the general public.

We also campaign on a range of issues. We do this in partnership with other organisations, but we also campaign independently on issues where we believe we can effect change ourselves.
